Things you need:-

Domain - Domain Registrar i.e Godaddy

Hosting - Hosting Company i.e Dreamhost (Save $50 off hosting csts if you use DMH50 in the promo code bit).

Website - You need a store so get oscommerce and get someone to skin it for you (places like namepros etc can do this.)

Products - Dropshippers - research them on google, (be careful and read reviews about them though)

Advertising - Adwords, YPN, adbrite, link exchanges etc

Great post n-james! Found some useful stuff also.

I use Siteground, they are cheap and quick in response, BUT I have no connection with them.

Good luck on your endeavor!! However, are you sure you want to sell electronics just out of the gate?? you should spend some time searching for more unique products and not selling things that are widely sold because it will take forever for you to start making sales.

Tax ID

I'm pretty sure you'll need a tax id number.

Whenever I make wholesale inquiries, they ask for my number

I have used Start Logic and was very pleased, I misread an offer when I signed up for a new hosting package and when I called to inquire they apologized and gave me a discount on 3 months of my hosting. Their vdeck interface is also very user friendly and easy to use.
