Virtual Personal Assistant

I would like to hear what people have to say about virtual assistants. Positive and negative comments are fine...

Dear Friends,

Virtual Assistants is part of the natural evolution of a growing business. I actually operate several businesses with one operating with a virtual assistant. The key to success is duplicating your time and effort. Eventually, this business will also grow to the point where I will hire an in house staff person.

Great Post,
Jeff

Having the help of a virtual assistant can make all the difference in the world. If you're wondering whether to go ahead and hire one, my suggestion is to sit down one quiet afternoon and make a list of the 10 most important business-related activities you undertake every week.

Now select 3 of those 10 that YOU MOST ENJOY and therefore work on MOST CONSISTENTLY throughout the week.

Once you've identified those, start looking at how you might be able to outsource the other 7 key activities to virtual workers. You'll free up your time enormously, build back up your enthusiasm for the business generally because you'll no longer be forced to do those 'horrible' jobs, and you'll be able to focus on moving the business forward perhaps by looking at new marketing/joint venture opportunities.

The only downsides will be spending time training up a new person in your working practices, and the money you'll have to pay them to do the work. I've found though, that the aforementioned free time/raised levels of enthusiasm/marketing focus have opened up the way for bringing in more money from other avenues. What you give out, you get back.

Love writing articles, trawling WordTracker for keywords, clearing your inbox of junk mail, and collating your receipts for the accounts? Or would you rather eat dirt? If it's the latter, then outsource, outsource, outsource!

Try:

vanetworking.com/vainterns (this organisation trains Virtual Assistants. The interns charge a very low rate in order to get the practice)
elance.com
guru.com

Good luck!

Andrea
