The Ghosts of yesterday - Commerce Versus E-Commerce

Whether you buy a CD online or whatever you make that decision because it's easier, faster and less hassle.

Picture this, it's December 1st, 23 shopping days till christmas, the malls are packed, people are fighting over merchandise, people bumping into one another, everyone is tired and cranky and just stressed out. Let's break this into steps to show you what i mean.

1) Drive Car to Shopping Center
2) Walk through mall
3) Enter store to buy gift
4) The 'push' factor begins
5) You ask for a particular item which they are sold out of and they've called all stores in the area
6) You start browsing for another gift if you haven't given up by this point.
7) You get the gift, now its time to wait in line while everyone in front of you has choosen the 'Gift-Wrap Option' because it's FREE
8) 20 - 40 minutes later you get to the front of the line and are all ready to pay when the register goes down.
9) You either stick it out and wait for it to come back online or leave shouting and cursing.
10) If you stayed you have now got the gift and you go and do this 20 times over at least.
11) You get in your car and drive home

Versus

December 1, 2004.
11:03 am - login to net
11:04 am - visit amazon.com and do a little shopping, apparently you saved $12.63 on the Harry Potter Boxed set
11:11 am - You Checkout and found out shipping was free and begin to shop elsewhere online.

within the next two weeks you've recieved notice that your items are shipped and recieved them

Now really what is easier?
