Does anyone, know what steps one must take towards copyrighting a logo and many other images and catchphrases. I am willing to spend the right amount of money, as long as my clothing company's logo and ideas are protected. I would really like some help from anybosy who knows anything about this.

Usually when a product is copyrighted or trademarked, is it also protect on the internet. I just want to know what are the best options for protectig a companys logos and trademarks.

This is a vital step towards launching my company. Any help will be appreciated.

Trademarks

Yes...for a clothing company, you're definately going to want to trademark your name and/or logo.

Visit www.uspto.gov, it'll give you all the information you need to trademark your brand in the US. You're also right about having a trademark and the fact that it does ideed protect your company on the internet.

Goodluck!

You should definitely trademark your name and logo. You don't want to have to change it down the road because someone says it sounds similar to there's that is registered and have to go through all the pains of changing your name.

I should know. I had to change my company name because a company said that we infringed on their trademarks. It wasn't directly but some of their customers said it caused confusion. None of our customers thought so. But they are a big company with lots of money and my company is small.

So we are now basically starting from scratch when we switch over to our new company name.
