PR: Ways to promote your business

By Ryan M. Hoback, Motivated Entrepreneur Consulting

Promotion, promotion…….everybody stand up, it’s time to do some promotion. This is one of the most exciting areas of business. Here is where we get our opportunity to make the world aware of our product our service.

There are numerous things we can do to promote our growing business. Events, such as company release parties are a great way to get buzz stirring, and a good way to invite the media to attend. Forming good relationships with different media outlets is crucial to creating constant promotion. Speaking engagements are another good way to have your voice heard, physically. Speaking engagements give you the opportunity to speak to large crowd and have them focus on your words and presentation. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase yourself as well as your business.

Good marketing materials that promote our product or service are another great vehicle for promotion. A constant mix of different promotional materials will keep your business in the mind of the targeted client. Radio and T.V. interviews can prove to be highly successful in a promoting to a large audience. These outlets are looking for interesting individuals that can help fill their air time, with stimulating information. If our business fits into this category, then you should pursue this option.

In order to keep our business fresh in the mind of clients, we must continually tweak our promotions. Hiring a PR firm is a very professional and realistic way to approach promoting your business, but sometimes it is not cost-effective. The idea behind successful promotions is to think big, and think often. We must constantly review and update our promotional campaigns thinking about what will grab the desired target audience attention.
