Question Opinions on template

I'm in the process of starting an online portable audio store(mp3 players, headphones, CD players...), and am at the point of chosing a store design. What do you guys think of this template? Thanks for your help.

That's a REALLY impressive design. What do you use for your layout? I'd love to get that good!

My only advice would be to move the product menu to the left hand side. For two reasons:

1) It's more user friendly according to every study ever done on usability (quoting a lecturer here).
2) The categories will more likely be indexed by Google as they'll appear higher in your HTML, hence you products will be more likely to appear in Google, hence, better sales (hopefully)!

I didn't actually make it. www.oscoders.biz offers already templated oscommerce templates, so all you need to do is buy one and load in your productsthat you sell. They are cheap too.

Any other opinions on the template? Thanks.

It seems a little generic, maybe have it a little flashier!?

I'd check out web usage demographics for the country you intend to sell to. For instance, the Asian market demands high graphics right down to the point of flash usage. Where as the Australian market prefers much simpler designs.

There are a lot of studies into this sort of thing.

I'd actually disagree with both of you. My competition is www.audiocubes.com (japanese) and www.beachaudio.com (american). They both have pretty simple designs and nothing really flashy.

Yeah good idea. I'm not sure where my audience will be because (I live in the US but ) I'm not sure if my dropshipper will ship nationally, or internationally. I'll guess I'll find out.

No way! I totally figured that company out. wholesalemarkter.com uses dropshippers to send out their products!! I figured out who they use and now I'm using whosalemarketer.com's dropshippers. I cut them out as the middleman so I can charge less and make more.
