I want to be able to put on the front of my upcoming revamped website a weblog. I mainly want to treat it as a news feed, whenever something relating to the company is happening.

Or a news letter, whatever you call it.

I am famaliar with Movabletype and other weblogs. Although I can not find something that is free for commercial purposes besides blogger.

And blogger clearly does not want to work with my website when I use an FTP connection. I always can not get blogger to work.

Does anyone have any ideas of a publishing system I can use to get news opon my website?

Most likely your ftp settings are just not set up correctly. I had the same problem initially and it turned out to the publishing path. I had wrote in the wrong folder path. You should double check that.

There is wordpress and some other blogging tools but free ones are hard to come by. Especially one with a built in community so if you need help you can ask people at www.bloggerfourm.com

I checked the FTP path.. I've been doing webdesign for 3 years now and never had FTP problems. I use MT on my other website. It's just blogger always does this. Blogger says it has it published but there's didly squat in the directory. I even went back in and set up the correct file path with this:

/home/user/public_html/blogger/

and it still doesn't work.

Glad you got it to work for you though! I did consider wordpress and etc. but I honestly don't like how wordpress is. I'm so use to using MT that I wish I had enough money I could buy a commercial license. So I wanted something that was really simple and easy to use..

And, that was blogger, if they didn't have such a heafty ftp problem.

I'll check out that blogger forum.. that seems interesting.

Youch. That's sill paying! I'm on such a small monthly budget. If I could afford to fork out a nice little price, I would have got the license for MT!

my brother uses it at www.dailyclerks.com. he switched over from blogger because of the ability to categorize.

I'm currently implementing it into Rogue Connect. I'll be taking out the unneeded modules and doing all the linking from the main site to make them appear as one (hopefully).
