Question My first site, need feedback

Hello,

I started this site after my own experiences in searching for a hosting provider. I noticed the best sites (I mean after google search appearance) are offering more comparison but they are also very specified: in most cases you have to choose first if you want a dedicated server or choose between hosting plans offering some different services (MySQL, PHP, Perl etc.)

Well, at this point I knew nothing about web hosting, and all those informations were just confusing. I wanted a site where I can upload a small site for my father - what I needed was a clear comparison of price and space. Eventually bandwidth for feeling save. Your own experiences? Please comment.

So the general idea of this site is to show only important informations for a common man, who only wants to put his site somewhere.
There are some articles and advices to give more basic information about hosting if someone wish to read more.
I also have listed free hosting and template pages: I can imagine some people could be happy not paying for web space. The free sites are without affiliate interests, because I want be fair and offer more quality than bunch of money-making-links. Too few? Please comment.

What do you think about this idea? Please leave some comments (even the rude ones are welcome ) how may I improve this service.

I hope no one will take it for an advertisement. Well let me say this clear: don't buy anything here, and don't click any ads. Touch this site only with your eyes, and tell me how they feel

Well, O.K. I know it isn't a top graphic site, but it is my first one. I just perfectly managed to turn a nice template into an ugly one, feel free to comment this as well.

Have a nice week! Kriso.

One thing I have found from my own affiliate endeavors is that more choices is good, it shows you have done your homework, but it can also be bad because it provides a "prospective clicker" too many options and it overloads them. Sometimes they just want you to tell them right upfront what you think is the absolute best one and why. If I were you, I would keep the table, it lets the really interested webmaster find the best one for them, but I would insert a headline like "The #1 Best Hosting Package!" put your recommendation of the "best bang for the buck" hosting package and tell why with a screenshot of the website replacing the picture that is now there. Best of luck!

I like the idea. There is a decent amount of potential for affiliate marketing.

The design could use a little tweaking. Your pic of a random hill is a bit out there. Think about getting a pic of people on a computer or something related to your topic.

You may think about dividing all that up into a couple different pages. Maybe on your main page you could have a description of the services you are offering, a few "featured" host services with a link to a short article about each of them. You could also have more adds and pics on the main page.

I would definitely separate the free and pay host services into two pages.

Thank You for the replies!
First, You are 100% right with the picture... now I read this is the most valuable area of the page, wow! Such a waste of space... there should be really an advertisement. The idea about a more content related picture is very good, too! But probably I should place it somewhere else. Hmm.. background maybe? Have to do some tests. Unfortunately I have no such pictures at the moment, so I'll go hunting at the university computer pool, maybe I can take some nice pics there (for a chocolate bar)
Second, dividing this page seems to be very good idea. I just need little more content, then I'll do it. Looks like it will be just one small step away from the next specialized site... But I start to see it's the subject: maybe it just has to be this way. Well, first I'll divide it to two pages: the commercial and free. Probably the same fate awaits the template pages

I had one more idea about the page and informations:
to construct some expandable bars with more detailed informations! Wow it seemed so great to me so I made a small drawing:

What do You think about this? Not to mention I have absolutely no idea how to construct it I'll have to ask some design gurus...

Thank You guys!

maybe you can create a good header for your site..and try to differentiate the hosting according to certain feature..like...unlimited domain and single domain

I think I see what you are wanting to do. I think it would require a database, but that is not a bad idea anyway. With all the data you have on there, making your webpage dynamic and searchable would be a good idea.

great idea! and the site's okay, though I feel like it's a little cramped... you might want to put on browsers and the database and searchables that jhhardin mentioned...

Hey thank You!
database, interactive reviews? sounds awesome! but You know... I'm still in the woods with my coding skills. I just discovered my site has CSS, now I'm trying to find out what it exactly is and how to eat it
