Income from Banner Ads Question

If you have tried one of those programs that pay you a couple cents for each person who clicks on their banner from your website, can you tell me your experience with it? Did it make much money for you?

I have. I own an online community(650 members) and placed google adsense banners on every page. I then planned on than expanding ot my own sponsors. Google pays very little(2-4 cents per click) and they tax you and stuff. It is a good starting point though. Bidclix pays you ALOT more than google, and i've earned up to 50 cents on a click. the bidclix ads are all scams though like "win free ____" stuff and all that junk. I got alot less clicks using it because no one was interested in those types of ads. I did earn about the same amount because the payout was so high. linkshare pays you a commission on any sales your ads generate. This is usualy good, but dont offer dell ads or expensive products. Who is going to click on your ad and buy a 1000 Dell computer? If your site, whatever you plan on doing, gets enough visitors/users, having your own sponsors is much more profitable and what any webmaster should strive for.

If you want to try someting else (not text ads) you can try the Product Ads at Click Share. They pay well.

There Are People Who Make serious cash with programs like http://www.clicksor.com/ however if you get it right Google AdSense can pay out thousands. I myself have had little luck with these schemes though. I much prefer physical product businesses.
