Ideas

After I worked at a preschool for a few months and only got paid 6 dollars an hour i decided that i want to do something by myself to earn money.I did not like the fact that how hard i worked had nothing to do with my hourly wage. Plus if I am working for myself I am actually trying to accomplish something(thats a good motivater to work hard).

I have 2 ideas. I will take constructive criticism but please do not insult my ideas, I am new to this(practice makes perfect). Please think before you post a rude comment.

First idea-- There is an antique shop about 5 minutes away from my house and I noticed how many people check out ebay. Could buying antiques and selling them on ebay for a higher price be a good possibilty?

Second idea-- I have been playing guitar for quite a while so I am somewhat knowledable about guitars. I could buy guitars from a pawn shop, fix them up and sell them to a local music store.

Thanks for all your help.

Both ideas sound like good ways to make some extra money. I don't think they will make you rich, but if you did it right you certainly could be making a decent additional income to your current job.

Do you think buying from ebay at cheap prices and selling for more to antique stores would work or do antique stores offer low prices?

I agree they're both alright ideas, but if you want to be able to able to make a living solely from your business you need something else.

This might help you: http://www.nathanwaters.com/archives...ow-i-find-them

What I'd suggest you do is write down everything you like and places you've had work experience in (e.g. guitars, kids, preschool etc)

Then try to think about wants/needs in these areas... something people would be willing and wanting to spend money on.

Don't rush the process, but keep it on your mind constantly. I find ideas tend to come to me when I'm trying to get to sleep.

Perhaps there was something you noticed when working at the preschool that either the kids, parents or preschool itself was missing and might want?

What time did the preschool close? ... if it was at 3pm and parents couldn't pickup their children until 6pm, then there's a possibility there that you could pickup some kids, entertain them for a few hours and personally deliver them (lol, sounding like a pizza delivery service) back to their houses when the parents are home from work.

Though of course you would probably need a tonne of licences and qualifications etc.

Just remember that business = hard work, and make sure people will actually want to pay money for your service/product before diving in.

cheers
nathan
