I stumbled across a site called http://www.guaranteedtraffic.com and thought it might be a unique idea for people to generate free web traffic. One of their services is called the "Funny Video Program". Basically it is designed to allow you to market your site through the verbal word of mouth of sending people funny videos.

When the visitor goes to the url they can watch the funny video and also see your entire site below the video. If they want they can email the page to 20 more friends or go directly to your site.

The idea is if you can send people videos that are funny enough, they will send them to friends and family, thus generating mass exposure to your site.

The idea would work if you sent your link to enough people to get the funny movie's ideavirus to spread throughout a specified audience. The site lets you track how many people visited your funny video page for free.

I signed up for www.gigapal.com to see how the program worked. Some of the videos are inappropriate to advertise certain sites, but I thought the below video was kind of funny.

If there is anyone else who tries this service out please post and let us know if you got anywhere with it. You could also try sending the above link around to people and I could post the results of how quickly or slowly the growth rate was of traffic.

Obviously, the concept is not geared towards extremely niche advertising, but building general mass traffic to your site from real visitors is the next greatest step to generating mass awareness and future orders from qualifying customers.

I think the company who offers this service has a unique idea, and I thought it was worthy of sharing with the forum community.
