I want to make a website similar to something like craigslist where people can post and browse ads.

What sort of hosting is necessary for this sort of application? and where can I find more information on the programming, I know HTML, C,C++, but have never dealt with web design of this nature.

search for "link directory" scripts on the internet, they usually come in PHP format

download it, install it then you're set. All you need now is to touch up on the cosmetics and make it look and feel like how you want it to be, the system would be there to back you up.

You may need abit of design and php knowledge. c/c++ is abosutely useless in this sense. However it will help you in learning PHP alot faster

why don't you go on getafreelancer.com , getacoder.com, elance.com, and scriptlance.com and say you want a clone for craigslist. I think I see this go for $100 or less.. they'll set everything up for you.
