Don't click on your own Adwords ads. I did that and they banned me from using it ever again. I only did it a couple of times to make sure it was working, because I also wasn't getting anyone to click on it. They key is to have good keywords in your articles that google will pickup for related sites. This makes the ads more targeted to your visitors.
