Gaming & Electronics eCommerce Store

I own http://www.emvee.ca (http://us.emvee.ca/ for prices in USD), and we sell gaming and electronics accessories from a drop shipper from Hong Kong. We opened 3-4 weeks ago and we've started off quite well, as we have around 30 orders made already with around $10-12 average gross profit per transaction.

However sales in the past week started dropping and I was wondering if anyone could lead me to a new marketing strategy that I could use with my store so that I can increase revenue. I know the layout isn't really professional because I did it myself, but I can't afford to get anything done to it now.

Any tips for this type of business? Also feel free to comment on my prices, and the general "feeling" of the store as well. Thanks.

Very good idea, I'm very fimiliar with china and their products. As far as recommendations would go, I would say try to get advertisement on a big "gaming" site, like nextgenwars.com, or something similiar. Try to reach a market where people would love to buy your stuff. I am a member of offtopic.com and they offer adspace at the top of their site, I believe that would be a wise investment due to the fact 80% of the people on their have gaming systems, and the site has tons of traffic, you can go on at any given time and see 1500 + users online alone. How was the shipping time been to your customers?

Thanks for your comments. I've checked out offtopic.com and despite the traffic that they get, the price they are asking for is a little over my advertising budget for now, considering my low levels of sales at the moment. The space I get for what they ask to pay for is not a lot either.

Right now, I'm trying to get as much "free" exposure as possible. Any recommendations in this direction? I'm also searching for a "niche" or a marketing strategy that I can use, so that possibly I can rely more on mouth-to-mouth advertising. I already provide the best customer service available to the customers that I have.

My orders are drop shipped from Hong Kong, so shipping time is not the fastest, but I pay extra for the distributor to drop ship with air mail. Usually, without customs delays, it ships within 1-2 days and reaches North America within another 2-3 days. Unless your local post office is very slow in processing, orders are usually received within a week, even half way across the world.

Check on the sitepoint.com marketplace if you are looking for advertisement space, there are thousands of large sites just adding ads and letting them go for cheap.
