i am testing a website i am creating and on a few pages i have approx 40 flash buttons. when the page loads it doesn't load nice and quick, rather the flash buttons appear a few at a time for 3 or 4 seconds. is this because i have too many buttons on one page and the browser can't handle it or could it be something else?

Check out HTML Toolbox Free Sample - this will tell you how long the page takes to load but chances are you are correct, way too many things being loaded.

Maybe you have forgotten to insert the

Stop();

code to your buttons action layer?

The browser should be able to handle millions of buttons simultaneously so that's not the problem.

I recommend that you make an actionscript preloader for them,
