I'm planning on opening an ecommerce store as another part of my site. The store would have cd keys for games and programs, so I was wondering if anyone knows of any ecommerce software that will send out an email with the cd key as soon as it's purchased. I know it's not really virtual goods, but it's similar.

Any ideas?

But that requires lots of monies, which I don't have. What I'll probably end up doing is start with a "within 24 hours delivery" etc. and once I make a decent amount I'll hire someone to make me a script for it.

dont mean to put you down mate but you can find almost ANY key with a google search...

Agreed I am a big time gamer and avid music listener and I hate to tell you but this just would not pan out...the market has already been taken care of.

Well it'd just be another part to my site. I won't really be shooting to be the biggest in the industry, I'd just like to make a bit on the side to help out with the costs of the site.

If you mean the illegal keygens etc, I wouldn't be selling for those games, it'd be more like WoW keys or subscription time cards. They would be better than the store because they'd be cheaper, quicker, and less hassle than driving over to walmart.

Ohh subscription cards. See that translates much differently then cd keys and the like. I suppose it could work, but don't expect much of a profit margin and it would be best as a side-accessory to your site. Though it seems you have already figured that out.

When you get orders in, you could just log the sale and send them the cd key yourself. If it gets really big, then hire someone. It would be cheaper than trying to get any sort of custom system.

how would you do this on ebay? You'd email the keys. same difference here. if you suddenly are selling 50 keys per day and can't handle the emails, then you'd have money to pay for a solution.

True, but the thing is I would like for it to become instantaneous eventually, because that's what most sites out there do these days, and they'd be much more inclined to buy if it was instant delivery.

anyone know a good source of game cards prepaid, or cdkey, i want to buy many, but i'm limited in supplying lol
