EBay cutting listing fees
EBay Inc. said Tuesday it will cut by up to 50 percent the fees it charges sellers to list their goods online, in an effort to boost listings and keep pace with other burgeoning e-commerce sites. More here.
Will that help make a difference?
Will that make you go back to use eBay for your selling and buying activities?
If so, why did you stop using eBay in the first place?

Actually, the listing fees were increased overall. It is cheaper to list an item but the final value fees have gone up. Only a small niche of sellers will actually benefit from the fee structure.

I would need to see the source on this. It is inconceivable that this is true.

To date, eBay has over 248 million registered users but earlier this year, 2008, I read somewhere, that they only had added more or less than 67 new users, I just hate that I can't find that article. I can't remember the details but I think it was reported that it was due to a decline in new user registration, but don't quote me.

Yeah the article that you read was probably false. Ebay has thousands of new members sign up everyday...Think of all the scam artists that open new accounts everyday. That is even in the thousands. Never mind all the legit people who sign up for ebay everyday.
Anyway, the new listing fees won't help anyone save money. Most sellers use buy it now when they sell something, myself included..That means everytime we sell something, we give ebay 8% of the final selling price. That's 3% more than before. So that nickel we are saving to list items means nothing. We are still being charged more money in the end....In reality, ebay fixed the fees, so they make even more money from us powersellers.
Just another reason to move or expand away from ebay.

Basically the only people who are saving money with the new listing fees are those who Use gallery, don't have an extremely high sale success rate and sell items in the $50-$99.99 rang. Also, those with ebay stores are getting shafted with the increase in FVF

eBays fees are ridiculous really... I use it a lot (even though the fees at high) but to give an example I sold a laptop for $810.00 and it cost me around $27 to sell and another $25 in PayPal fees when the buyer paid me... $50+ just to sell an item. Oh well, it still is the best place to get your items seen and sold.

I did read last night that eBay is going to no longer allow sellers to leave negative feedback for buyers! This pisses me off!
The Associated Press: EBay's Tweaks to Feedback Worry Sellers
My company sells cars & boats on eBay and we had a non-payment % of about 22% in 2007. To make matters worse we only get half of our fees back if we relist and resell on eBay. Now they want to limit our recourses against the buyers.
Any one else have an opinion on this?
