Dropshipping?
For those of you that have experience with an e-commerce website. Have you set up some sort of dropshipping service, or do you actually hold inventory and ship yourself?

Hey Drew,
Are you thinking about setting up a dropship business?? I currently own a ecommerce site in which I sell products from my dropship suppliers and never stock any inventory.
Check out my website devoted to my dropshipping experience, it's a great way to start a legitimate business online without much effort,
JOEY

Again, what products do you dropship...where is your store?
It seems like you just run a dropship affiliate site to me.

Hey Sarafina,
I'll show you one of my online stores via email with the link if you wish. If I just post one of my dropshipping businesses on this forum and tell everyone how profitable it is, everyone with a dropshipping interest will just start selling the same products as me.
Any reputable dropshipper will or should tell you the same thing, I spent a great deal of time researching and finding unique products that I wanted to sell, so just posting my sites and telling people that I dropship those products only hurts my time and effort that I put into it.
My overall philosophy that I have learned and share here and through my website is that succeeding in the dropshipping business takes time and effort. That means selling products that others don't or wouldn't think about (everyone tries to sell electronics and clothes). Send me your email address or contact me privately,
-Best Regards,
JOEY

From what i've learning dropshipping can be both a blessing and a curse. Blessing because its less work but a hassle because of countless other reasons... just work hard enough and develop a list of suppliers and stock your own inventory because that is the beginning of how to truly make money doing e-commerce. Cheers

Dropshippers guide
Hiya! There is a drop shipping tutorial here at http://dropship.url40.net if anyone wants to learn more about it. I've tried dropshipping twice before, I dropshipped from umm.. I think it was thailand.. not sure.. but I made double my money! Wahoo! lol Sold some sterling silver jewellery for Ł10 and it cost me Ł4.. yeah I know.. no big deal but .. if you sell hundreds of these then there is loads of profit to be made. I'll find you the link to the dropshipper I used and I'll come back and post it here. The great thing about these guys is that you don't have to pay to register with them. BBl!

Dropship vs StocknShip Products
Dropship is good if you want low risk and no upfront investment. A product is bought by a client then shipped by the supplier and you make it happen. You can make money, but less then if you bought in bulk.
You can buy in bulk and stock the inventory. This will let you control the margins better. Think about it...if i am a supplier and you want one product every week and this other reseller asks for 100 or 1000 every week, i am going to want to keep that guy happy with lower prices. It is cheaper in time and money to send you 1000 at once then it is to send 1 at a time.
So...if you buy in bulk then you can have better margins, but you now have more risk. You have to buy the products upfront so you will have to be able to cover that cost. You have to do the shipping yourself, so there is a cost in time now that YOU are the supplier. What happens if they all dont sell? Will your whole family get audio cables for the Holidays?
So...the basic rule is if the risk is low the profit margins might be low and if the risk is high there is greater potential for higher profits.
Also....if you do want to try stocking in bulk you can stock them at your home or business, but there are also sources for 3rd party inventory warehouse. They will hold your inventory AND ship it for you. So you make them your dropship supplier/partner.
Last- Drew...whatever you do in business YOU HAVE GOT TO HAVE MORE COWBELL!

Yes the WWBs directory is good regardless of the URL.
Drew- What type of site are you wanting to open? I still think the combo site is the way to go. You can feature or mark as special the products that you hold and adding dropship products from real supplier programs will help you to leverage your traffic.
