Drop Shipping Without Permission

Does anyone know if it's okay to drop ship products if the supplier doesn't know you are doing it. Like, you get a picture of the product, put it on your site with a description, mark up the original price, and then when someone buys it, you just go to the original site and buy it and give them your customers shipping address. I know that's pretty much exactly how regular drop shipping works. But I just want to know if you could do it even if the supplier doesn't have an, "official drop ship program".

This probably won't work, because most times you have to have the same mailing address as the billing address. If they don't have a drop ship program they won't mail it to another address. If they do mail it to a forwarding address they are only looking for trouble, as most of these are scams related to stolen credit cards.

If you find a company that will ship to a different address than the one on the billing of your credit card, I would stand clear....

But, if you have the goods shipped to yourself, and then repackage it and mail it to the customer. This has been done before. You could probably get away with this, as long as the customer doesnt mind another couple of days or so for delivery.

I hope this helps you, goodluck.

I would tend to disagree. Companies regularly ship to an address other than the billing address. Think about Christmas, when many people order a gift online and have it shipped to the recipient at a different address.

The real issue, in my opinion, is the unauthorized use of a trademark and copyright. You cannot, for example, just pull a copyrighted image off their website to use for your own marketing of the item.

The thing is, I don't understand why the supplier would care. I mean, there still getting paid the full amount.
