Does Canada have potential?

I've been thinking about starting up an e-commerce website, but I live in Canada. I have been doing some research and it seems that international shipping, even just to the United States, is just so complicated that it seems almost undoable. I was just wondering if there is enough of a Canadian market to ship exclusively to Canada.

It's always complicated when you do business outside your own country. I try and deal only inside the USA for that reason. When I shipped to Canada my ratio was about 5 out of ten customers where from Canada. And that was from ebay.com, not ebay.ca .....So there is a market for it.

I am sure there is more of a market now, since Canadians get a better deal if they buy from USA to sell inside Canada....In fact, there were a lot of people from canada that came to New England to buy, during our recent Christmas sales. With the percentage they were getting off, they were almost getting stuff for free with the money exchange rate. We even had people flying in from England to shop...There money is worth more than the dollar right now, so they were getting sweet deals. I talked to this couple from England who flew in with empty luggage on a day trip, so they could fill them up with USA goods...

So yes, there is always a market if there is demand for it. Nothing is undoable.

If you have any questions feel free to pm me, I can probably help.

It is nothing bad to start from local area and develop site for USA market which has huge potential, best to go on targeting specific metropolitan area first.

I sell here in the USA, but about 45% of my money comes from other countries also.
So I sell all around the world. It's your best bet.
