My Business partner choose OsCommerce and I'm quite happy with it. He does almost all of the web stuff and can easily find contributions and such. I find that with the contributions we started with and with those that we've added the site gets picked up well by search engines.

What I don't like currently and need to change is the checkout system. People often get confused with creating an account and shipping addresses and billing addresses being displayed on different pages. For that a lot of the Yahoo Stores have us beat by displaying it clearly on the same page.

People are not big fans of creating an account. I prefer the kind of checkouts that is more straightforward.

It truly is amazing how little efficiencies in shop software can make for a huge difference. It would be cool to see how the same store would do if it was presented in different shop software modes.

i use osCommerce because the contributions available are almost endless to suit every need. All you need is to have a good programming knowledge or a good template.

Zencart and OSCommerce are both nice, however if you want to get a whole site in place and be able to add extra functionality later, nothing beats the Joomla! Virtuemart combination.

If you are unaware of what I am talking about, Joomla is a free open-source content management system that is SUPER easy to set-up if you do it right. Virtuemart is a free add-on that is also really easy to install from within Joomla once it is all set up.
