Two Cooks Had A Contest And The Heat Was On

Posted 09-04-2008 at 01:51 PM by Creadiv
Most bloggers will measure a contests success by the amount of new subscribers they gain from it. This is very logical thinking and probably the true measurement of a contests success, but I want to know what my site has actually gained from holding a contest.

We all know that "content is king" and statistics are not. Measuring the success of a contest on a qualitative criteria is nearly impossible because it is subjective. I don't think a contest can be successful unless it helps you statistically so don't think I am telling you to forget the stats. But I also want you to keep in mind that a blog is about its content and if a contest gets you new rss readers that is great unless you haven't given them anything to read.

So how do you do this?

Please read the rest from my blog.
