The Trap That's Set Up
Prolouge-
First and foremost, I am 16 years old. I have all the common symptoms of teens such as, hormones, school, stress, work-minded, I am trying to balance out school, family and friends, but the only difference between me and most peers around me, and even my teachers is one single detail. I don't want a job. I don't want my income to be controlled by another person. And so at the age of 13 I began my financial learning.
The Stage
Today was career day at my school. An I must say, how sad was I when I tried talking to the people I was assigned and they had no idea what I was talking about or denied me information. I always thought that adults would teach me how to succeed financially and all I get are closed doors.
The Set Up
As I reviewed the career day packet I looked at the careers that were available for me to view. I took, Business Management and Financial Planning, thinking hey they can both help me on my entrepreneurship. So I join it.
The Joke
Business Management: Marketing
Most of the things that the guy talked about in here had nothing to do with marketing, even though it said on the paper, BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: MARKETING. And when he was talking, I automatically could tell that I was being lectured about financial topics by a middle class non-active investor with an employee mindset. And right off the bat, my peers just ate him up. They loved what he did, and wanted to be an employee just like him. How sad is it that we the students were being manipulated to be employees and have our paycheck controlled by someone else?
Financial Planning: Real Estate
This one really got my cracking up. This career day was a joke. Food for the masses who didn't have a clue on how to control their cashflow. Right off the bat when the speaker asked how much a car costs monthly and how much a house costs monthly I was cracking up inside. How sad it is that their being pushed into the reall world and no one has ever nurtured them into the financial process. The speaker was a middle class non-active investor with a self-employed mindset that told me to diversify our investments. What A RIOT! DIVERSIFY!? Not only I, but my peers were being manipulated to diversify our investments! I'm sorry, but making investment decisions like that makes as much sense to me as throwing a match into your gas tank to see how full it is.
The Trap
My peers, My masses, were being told the wrong things. When I asked the speakers their view on MLM's or Network Marketing, they could only respond to me with, "huh?" My generation is being taught the wrong things by people who are suppossed to teach us how to fend for ourselves.
It's depressing...

Sooooo true! Adults are giving kids the idea that you must go to college and get a good job and spend half of your life paying back student loans. The only advice they really give is to SAVE SAVE SAVE, keep a good job and maintain good credit and everything will be alright. LOL its pathetic. WELL WORDED BLOG!!!
