In 2006, when Ben Goldhirsh founded GOOD, a Los Angeles-based media company that focuses on telling stories and celebrating the work of social entrepreneurs and other inspirational figures, the term “do gooder” was pejorative. He thought the concept needed to be rebranded. So he did. And while the effort has attracted millions of readers over the years, Goldhirsh recently moved to retool the effort. Today, the publication has transitioned into a platform for people who don’t just want to read about doing good, the want to get involved too.
