Having the guts and the nerve are both integral parts of building a business. As Evan mentioned, entrepreneurship is largely about opportunity. And I have found that it's also about intuition - or following your gut instinct. I bet Steve Jobs had a hunch that Hewlett had what he needed and pulled together enough nerve to contact him. He probably had no idea how Hewlett would respond. But I admire the fact that his uncertainty didn't stop him. It wasn't a sure thing, but Jobs took a chance and contacted him anyway. Recently, I've been trying to decide whether to contact a couple of leaders in the consulting industry. This article just gave me the push that I needed. Very true!
