I definitely agree that starting online helps quite a bit. We have pictures associated with our 'profiles' on our corporate site, but we used pictures of our Second Life avatars, as even my 40-year old colleagues look pretty young. Mostly I find that the best way to get taken seriously is to be competent and provide quality service. No one cares that I'm 24 if I'm delivering quality product and strategy on time and in-budget. Suits help but you need decisiveness as well, if you start to doubt you are lost, coz they attribute that to your inexperience and young age.
