Over 1000 Apps Served in 24 Hours — Or How Apple Decided to App Your Life

With the introduction of the Mac App Store and its easy installation on your favorite Mac, it seems Apple is convinced that applications are where the tech world is headed.  With over 1000 applications downloaded from the Mac App Store in the first 24 hours, apparently, Apple was correct in its thinking.

The Mac App Store can be installed from any Mac with a current OS.  All a user has to do is visit the apple icon at the top left of their home screen and check for updates.

Operating much like the iTunes app store, the Mac App Store is simple to use and the number of applications is growing.  For developers, this app store is even more enticing as it allows developers to set their own prices, and keep 70% of the revenue from sales.

In addition, developers aren't charged for free applications, plus they don't have to pay for marketing, hosting, or credit card fees, according to Apple.

Another application store?  Doesn't this seem a bit much?

To some experts, the application store introduces the idea that if you like your applications on your phone or your iPad, you don't have to switch between devices to use them.  Since many of these applications will eventually be available for your Mac too, that beloved app of yours will never be out of reach.

Easy to use, simple to install, and filled with useful tools, your Mac is completely customizable — well, even more than it was before.
