Small Business, Big Vision — How can such a simple phrase hold such powerful meaning?
This article is not about 'how-to' or 'things to avoid', but about creation. It's about creating the vision of your small business as it's intended to be. This article is about stepping into the shoes of "big" business and declaring yourself a leader in your industry.
However, there are some rules you must follow:
Vision = Belief
Vision and belief are one. Without one there is no other. In order to create your vision you must believe in it. A vision without belief is like empty promises; you make them knowing they will never come to fruition.
It's easy to lose hope from time to time. It's the path entrepreneurs must take; it's the right of passage if you will. This is why it is even more important that in the face of adversity, that you stay true to your vision and your beliefs.
Entrepreneurialism = Courage
An entrepreneur is a work of art, constantly changing and molding itself into existence. You are exposing yourself through your ideas and commitments. It takes a lot of courage to step into the path of entrepreneurship.
There is no hiding out and if you intend to be the leader and innovator you were meant to be, you need to step forward into the crowd and have the courage to stand for what you believe in.
You see, it's not just about making money and living the lifestyle you think a successful entrepreneur lives. That's all well and good. This journey is about understanding yourself, your business and drawing others into your ideas, hopes, and dreams and letting them know that you have something valuable to offer.
Creation = Innovation= Change
In order to create your vision you have to accept that you are an innovator; a free thinker, a thought leader. And with creation there's the willingness to change and transform (not abandon) your vision. You have to be willing to accept things as they are and not get attached to the end result.
The creation of your vision is only limited by your imagination. Play small, get small results. Play big, get big results. You are the only one holding yourself back, so step out of your way and step into the realm of possibility.
Picture a child placing his tiny feet into his father's oversized shoes. At first, he may be stumble or fall. But eventually he will find his balance and will soon grow into them.
Live out the vision that you are a large successful company. Today, take the stand that your small business will be "big" business and one day soon others will be looking to step into YOUR shoes.
What's your big vision for your small business?
