I live in Bentonville, Arkansas, and half the people I know work for Walmart, or for a company related to Walmart. Sam had a tremendous impact on this area. I was visiting with a lady in her 80's who knew Sam growing up. She confided that her and her friends thought the little five and dime would be the end of it all. Needless to say, they're amazed at where he took the little company. Good post! I’ve read this piece with great interest.
