I know a lot small businesses using Twitter for less formal dialogues with customers. But you should first be able to catch others to view you in order to make connections with them that's why you make your self interesting and from there take off to establish relevance, trust, and authority respectively. I admit that this is a protracted endeavor than for small businesses to make their own websites. A lot of businesses encourages their fellows to create their own site with an accessible and usable corporate website design or ecommerce web site design because there is much space into it for advertising, generating sales, and business exposure unlike social media which works better for social networking development.

For full disclosure, I have to start off by saying I am co-founder of efactor.com, the social network for entrepreneurs globally.

Having said that, we also use all other social networks for our own activities and marketing and I believe this trend will continue to grow in 2010. However, I seriously believe (so serious that we did start our own niche network) that more and more, you will see a divergence in networks. Networks will start catering more and more for specific interest groups and therefore there will be a rise in niche social networks. In general, I believe that most people will choose two or three networks they feel the closest sense of belonging to and start to leave the larger generic networks or use them merely to stay in touch socially with existing friends. But niche networks will become the way to build new connections, find out what is going on in areas that affect your own world.

Having said all that, for now my vote for best way of promoting my business go to E.Factor, Twitter and various blog sites!

I got addicted to twitter this year. Twitter has been a craze for me and I find it so easy and handy for marketing.

However a lot of my hopes were let down by Facebook!!

Out of frustration I closed down my facebook account! Sorry guys but I have not benefitted from Facebook in any way...also I find it very boring and it seems like they have very less new stuff to offer!

I also found that Wordpress Blogs are a great way to market your services or business....wordpress blogs also appear in the search results which is a great advantage!

My votes for Twitter and Wordpress!!

Happy New Year to all at Young Entrepreneur!!

With the growth of social media sites, it has given rise to the online marketing mix. Not all social media sites are going to be right for all businesses. Picking the marketing mix that is right for your brand, industry and objectives of the marketing strategy are essential.

Twitter has been the best for my online ventures. But I have seen quite a few businesses have great success on Facebook. I think that it really comes down to finding the right marketing medium for your situation.
