Antonette Hoffman-Robinson is the 23 year old founder of Boobie Bib, a new product for nursing mothers.
Antonette is a new mother who found herself at home with extra time on her hands. While reading through magazines she learned about work at home moms who were making millions creating products and selling their inventions.
‘‘I knew I wanted to start my own business. It just took me having a child and finding something I’m so passionate about.”
She began her new business by sewing slings with colorful patterns that mothers could use while breastfeeding. Her original products were called “Boobie Bags”. She sold them to local mothers, changed the name to “Boobe Bibs” and created a website www.theboobiebib.com.
The website was noticed by a local retail store who then decided they would carry Antonette’s new product line.
Now Antonette is considering what the best way to expand will be. ‘‘I’m on the fence about whether I want to have it manufactured or start hiring some work-at-home moms who are great at sewing. It’s not odd that I’m doing this at 23.”
All it took was that magazine article to get her started on her entrepreneurial path.
What got you motivated to start your business?

funny thing is my wife did the exact same thing. she was at home with a new baby, baby loved to be held, but my wife would get tired of carrying her around. she loves sewing so she decided to make a sling. the sling represented her taste in fashion and she would get comments when she was out and about with it. so she had me make her up some business cards (i’m a graphic designer) and anytime anyone would ask about it she would hand out her cards. no website (yet) or no local merchandiser carrying the product (yet). but my wife loves doing it and it’s an opportunity to make a little extra cash.
Wow! I googled my business and this came up
YAY! Well hello all!
Yup, i make nursing covers…but not just any covers. They are not like the ones that you see online or in the stores. The article made it sound like i make slings…lol…i actually make slings and NURSING COVERS
The Nursing covers are the “bibs”…for your boobs..get it? So actually my product the Boobie Bib is a nursing cover
They have pockets and they also have their own built in pouch, so basically you just fold the cover inside out and it folds into itself
What really motivated me to make this was the fact that i had so many medical issues when trying to beastfeed my son…and i found it hard to feed him, stay covered, try to reach all my breastfeeding tools…..and OF COURSE stay stylish (lol)
The website is actually being re-designed by a friend who does web design for a living
So keep checking back!

Yey! Nette! Here boobie bibs are awesome!! I wish I had had mine in the early stages of bf my son…but she hadn’t made them yet. I will def be using it with my next though! It was so much easier to use than the pull over cover thingie I bought from Wal-mart…and it was a lot cuter!
I have actually purchased a boobie bib for myself and a sling for my husband from Antonette. I highly recommend them. She was professional and a pleasure to deal with! I’m excited that she is getting the word out about her fabulous products.
Came across this article while searching for the Aussie Booby Bibs (http://www.boobybibs.com.au/) – similar name but different concept (it’s a comfy tank top for breast-feeding women to wear in bed instead of a bra and bra pads).
Antonette’s invention seems interesting too though…
Yes. It’s true.
