Our 34th Review our Blog entry comes thanks to Stu Barwick from Neon Sumo. You can read what he had to say about us in his blog post: Helpful Business Advice.

“Neon Sumo is an environmentally friendly design shop, specializing in web design. We are located in Denver, Colorado, and work out of carbon neutral offices. As residents of the beautiful state of Colorado, we enjoy taking full advantage of the great outdoors whenever possible. As such, we understand first hand how delicate the environment is. So much of design is unsustainable, but there is great room for improvement. As designers we find ourselves in the unique position to really make a difference in the way people do business. We like to think of ourselves as Green Design super heroes. We are here to save the day… the next day, and hopefully many days to come. Through concentrated efforts to communicate more effectively and innovative solutions to design challenges, Neon Sumo is changing the way business’s look at design. By designing for a better future, we can begin to take the steps needed to ensure one. ”

I wanted real TANGIBLE resources. Real content. I have started a couple of business’ in my day and so I thought that compiling some of my knowledge and others would be helpful to the community at large. I have a network of people that have also started there own business. They will be adding content on there are well.”

Brianlinton.com is home to Nothing to Lose, a blog about the trials and tribulations Brian Linton faces as a young entrepreneur. This website, however, is not just for young entrpreneurs to read, but anybody aspiring to either start or grow their own business. The lessons on this website relate to marketing, branding, selling, PR, customer service, tradeshows, motivation, and any other topic that entrepreneur’s face on a daily basis.

Brian started his first company, Sand Shack, at the age of 19 in Cape Cod, MA. He started his second company, Kofi Coffee, at 20 after he moved to Philadelphia, his current home and headquarters for everything he is currently involved with. In addition to his two companies, he is involved in a variety of other entrepreneurial projects, which include mentoring and advising other startups.

Fire & Motion is a military concept based on keeping your enemy (competition) on their heels while you capture ground. You shoot…that’s the fire part, then as they are reacting, you move forward. That’s the motion. The key is to be proactive while your competition is forced to react. Fire & Motion provides a practical guide to capturing Entrepreneurial ground.

Kate is a horticulturist, writer, voracious book reader, practitioner of yoga, cook, volleyball player, traveler and blogger. Blogging for Queensboro, and bringing the “behind the seams” tidbits and stories to Queensboro customers is her favorite job responsibility. She also enjoys looking at data! (She gained this appreciation only after taking four years to complete her thesis research and finish her paper. Now that data does not involve a school grade, she enjoys it!)

Kate identifies “shopping” as her main job hazard. She can find a use for just about every single one of Queensboro’s products—and is steadily acquiring each item from Queensboro.com, embroidered with her personal logo. Kate also keeps her finger on the pulse of apparel news around the ‘net. While this task is specifically research-oriented, it also results in clandestine (shhh—don’t tell her husband) personal purchases upon returning home from the office. It is a sacrifice she is willing to make. Must keep on top of the industry!
