I believe the difference is services that overlap. My SP's and I will often work on a project together, or at the very least, have input. In this instance, the partners are transparent so that the client knows both are involved. This is based on a level of trust and takes time to develop the realationship. However, I wouldn't recommend doing this unless you have fully vetted the partner, but when it does work, it can grow your business, network, and profits!
