It’s time for another SEO Advice post! Last week, I offered free SEO advice to Hybrid Racing. I’m going to continue my SEO Advice series today by helping out another YoungEntrepreneur.com blog reader Stella from Tivoli Couture.Stella – http://www.TivoliCouture.com
Hello! I design, manufacture, wholesale and retail baby gear and accessories. I have a beautiful webiste, but it is not converting. I rank well on google, but am concerned that maybe my home page is not as practical as it is pretty and unique.
Any suggestions?
Best,
Stella
My Recommendations
1) Get Some Text!
Your homepage has very little text on it. The page looks professional and it will help you convert people who come to purchase your products, but it won’t help you drive traffic because Google loves text. Try to put at least 300 words of text on every page that is descriptive of what you’re selling. As you click through to each page as well such as your Burp Catchers Bundle, try to add more descriptive text beyond the point form information you’ve included. Again, aim for at least 300 words of content.
2) Get Your Blog Going!
Blogs can be a great way to have fresh content and drive search engine traffic to your site. I noticed that you have a blog link at the bottom of your page… but it just leads back to your homepage! Getting that blog going would require an ongoing commitment to writing new posts but it will help you rank in the search engines. If you’re not going to use the blog, take out the link.
3) Change Your Title Tags
All your pages seem to have the same title tag: “Tivoli Couture – ultimate luxury gifts for Ordinary People with Extraordinary Taste”. After that long title tag you then include the information that is relevant for each page. For example, your SHOP Collection page reads “Tivoli Couture – ultimate luxury gifts for Ordinary People with Extraordinary Taste SHOP Collection”. If you want to rank for SHOP Collection, take out the long intro before it in the title tag. Use your main keywords only on the homepage and then customize each page so your targeted keywords are as far left as possible in the title tag.
Good luck Stella!
