Top Tools for Entrepreneurs – Entrepreneur Poll

We’ve decided to change around our Entrepreneur Poll this month for the Young Entrepreneur blog. Every handyman has a set of tools that he uses to go to work. And just like a good handyman, every entrepreneur should also have a set of tools to help make work a little easier.

We would like to know what’s in your toolbox? It is a particular book that you read? A business plan template? A search engine optimization resource? A CRM tool? A new productivity software release?

What are the tools that you just can’t live without in your business! We’re hoping to put together a top 10 list of the best tools for young entrepreneurs so please share your ideas and help the rest of the community!

Looking forward to your replies! You can vote by replying in the Young Entrepreneur forum entry that we have created here.

Well, ever since Gary Busey started giving business advice that’s been pretty indispensable. Come on! Think outside the box: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNjhXSd-LP8

Ha! In all seriousness, though, there’s no single thing I could say that I return to time and time again. I like Malcolm Gladwell’s book “The Tipping Point” because it shows me how time and time again very little changes have large consequences (I work in marketing, btw, so my answers might be different from others). I am constantly trying to simplify. In the day-to-day that usually gets done by a combination of Microsoft Office, Google, and espresso machine. :)

    RSS reader!

Its important to stay in the know. Blogs are my personal favorite way to keep up to date and a blog reader (like google reader) keeps all the blog sites you frequent in one place for easy reading.

Every Entrepreneur needs tools to set them apart. Those of us who have a business card, compete for business and have a need to set themselves apart from the rest (which includes every single one of us)must have a tool that tells their story; lists their attributes; their accomplishments; their special designations; their charitiy work and hobbies; awards and accolaides. A paper business card does none of that!

The Fully Customized Multimedia Business Card and Way To Wealth Marketing System does all of that for you and more!

We all know that clients buy differences, not similiarities.
The Lexan Cover with your picture embedded into it is an impressive presentation that’s all about you! The CD ROM inside is a 3 to 5 minute presentation that’s all about you!
The weight and thickness of the Multimedia Business Card gives it percieved value which buys it automatic shelf life, unlike a paper business card.

The Multimedia Business Card is a necessary tool in this challenging marketplace. Today’s consumer is educated and discerning. We all need an edge that we’ve never needed before. Just go to http://www.doubleyourbusiness2008.com and check out the presentation.
This will be the single most effective tool in your tool box.

I would say that a must have tool for entrepreneurs these days would be a virtual assistant.

  5. Jon Ray says:

Google Reader for quickly skimming through industry news and events.

Twitter for keeping in contact with colleagues, staying abreast of industry changes as they happen and finding new clients.

My blog for presenting myself as a thought leader in my industry.

iPhone 3G to hold all of my video production reels, social media training videos and to make sure that I’m always in contact with each of my social networks & email.

Business cards!!! (Why am I meeting so many people at networking events that do not bring business cards? Crazy!)

Thanks for the post, guys! I’ve enjoyed reading!

I agree with you 99% but wonder if you have really looked at the whole picture. DOn’t mean to be critical just food for thought.

  7. Your post is very well crafted and I have learned. I’ve added your blog to my reading material. Thanks for the update!
