"Until you get a PageRank you won’t rank for any important keywords and the way to Page Rank is to build your links."

I don't agree with that, you can rank with or without having a pagerank..It all depends on how competitive your keyword(phrases) are. But having said that..submit to free directories or try and get a high pageranked site link back to you.

Thanks so much for all this helpful advice! I remember a time when posting helpful information on the internet was not so tricky because the internet was not such a huge palce. Getting noticed once only meant providing genuinely helpful information on your topic of choice and not so much attention to SEO and other techniques. Unfortunately, there is also a lot of spammy information provided by people just trying to get at the top of that ever-changing Google/Yahoo/etc. list. But it’s good to have some truly helpful information that can make the process of creating a presence so much easier.

I like the iconography. I do not like the white on black text, especially for a blog. Switch to a new theme and that will encourage readers a bit more since they will be able to make it through the article without getting eye-strain. I have been creating sites for years and found that white on black only works for entertainment or as a full background. Whenever there is more than 5 words that need to be read, dark text on light background works better.

Thanks for the critique comments, Evan. I agree with them and made a note to change my Permalinks on my blog as well.

The intended target audience eludes me on the worklovelife site. The writing is great but I don't have a clear sense of its focus. Your point 4.

I also don't like reading white text on black - but that may just be me. Anyway, thanks again for doing this little exercise. We all learn by evaluating one another and hopefully learn to appreciate the bit that we contribute with our own online presence.
