On August 10th, 2007 we did a profile of Fraser Doherty. At the time he was an 18 year old student a Strathclyde University and entrepreneur. His company, SuperJams, had already a million dollars in sales and he was only looking forward to greater success.
Forbes recently caught up with Fraser to get his advice to young entrepreneurs on how to make a million dollars before turning 20. What did the 19 year old have to say? “Have an attitude of adventure, and enjoy the journey.”
Other young entrepreneurs were also asked for their advice. Cameron Johnson ran Surfingprizes.com which paid web browsers $0.20 per hour to surf the Internet with a browser which contained advertising.
“I was 15 years old and receiving checks between $300,000 and $400,000 per month. Before my high school graduation, my combined assets were worth more than $1 million.” The company was later sold to an unidentified buyer. Cameron’s advice? “Put yourself out there. Don’t be afraid of rejection. Don’t be afraid to ask anything.”

I remember watching a TV show about Fraser and how he started out. He has done immensely well.
very inspiring. you can’t have wild success without taking risk. when you are young is the perfect time to take on risk. you don’t have as much to lose, and you have plenty of time on your hands to bounce back if something does not work out. a lot of people i know think that playing it safe when young is the best way to go. i think this is a mistake. personally, i’d like to see a spirit of adventure from more people.
